Gratitude and Thankfulness
for the crops are ripe
the harvest begins.
It may not be the season’s hype
but it transcends
the rituals of the present
a reality that tends
to fall to side, absent.
But this isn’t a vent
Again, thankful.
something has been constant, grateful
thousands of misgivings delivered
having to be considered,
spared. The harvest, a product of work and favor
the fruit of all that labor,
comes rushing in
happiness within.
The goal has been set
the harvest has been met
a break in the cycle
before the beads of sweat trickle,
again, thankful
something has been constant, grateful.
